This house was my grandmas house when I was a child

This house was my grandmas house when I was a child. This was my safe place as a child, a 600sqft house where there was zero arguments, no violence, no drugs or alcohol.

Just my grandma and grandpa, they loved each other, she would wake up and cook him b fast everyday, seeing adults loving each other and taking care of each other is important as a child.

Especially coming from a broken home with everything listed above. We would watch price is right together, look through her photos albums and look at all the black and white pics of her family in Texas.

I would purposely get in fights at school so I would have to stay at her house she was the only sitter for my dad. This house is about a mile from my house, while looking at homes to buy I instantly felt safe when I walked into my current house.

Older home with a raised foundation, a block away from the school I attended as a kid, sometimes we as adults get stuck in our childhood comforts. This neighborhood, the memories of my grandma, I never really put a lot of thought into it but I’m guessing that’s why I live where I do.

Our grandmas, our grandpas, our elders, they need to know how much they mean to our communities, our children, honor them.
